Community Support
At Somerset First United Methodist Church, we believe that being the Church means reaching beyond our walls to share Christ’s love in the wider community. While we can’t meet every need ourselves, we are blessed to support organizations and events that help people find hope, healing, and belonging.
Scripture reminds us to “look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4) and to “encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). By offering our space, our hands, and our hearts, we partner with groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, Scouts of America, and others who work every day to strengthen lives and families.
We also join in community celebrations such as the Christmas Parade, Latino Festival, and Chill Out & Proud, sharing joy, welcome, and connection with our neighbors. Some of these ministries happen weekly, others just once a year — but all are part of our ongoing commitment to love our community as Christ loves us.
Below you'll find the upcoming events supported by SFUMC along with our community partners.
