Happy New Year!
Posted on Jan 7, 2021 in Newsletter |
We start this New Year with a mix of trepidation and much hope in the Lord! While we continue to monitor virus numbers through the Lake Cumberland Health Department, and follow the recommendations of our own reopening task force, we will remain virtual only until Pulaski County’s numbers improve and drop out of the red zone. Our Sunday service can be viewed live at 11am here on our website, on Facebook, or on YouTube. If you watch later, there is a delay posting the service to YouTube. Until we can gather again, know you are missed and loved!
Church in-person worship and activities still suspended while Pulaski is labelled red.

In-person worship and activities will be suspended any week that that the Lake Cumberland District Health Department labels Pulaski Country red in their report the previous Wednesday. Based on recent case numbers, we expect to be labelled red for much of January. We will notify you when that changes via our Facebook page, church-wide email, and this website. We invite you to follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/somersetfumc and to subscribe to our church-wide email by contacting our office at office@somersetfumc.org.
Know that we miss you and can’t wait to see you in person again! Until then, we pray that you stay safe and well. May God bless you in this new year!
Worship will be virtual through the end of the year.

Given the case numbers in Pulaski County we are confident, though saddened, that we will be unable to hold in-person worship safely for the rest of the month. We invite you to join us virtually at facebook.com/somersetfumc, YouTube, or here at somersetfumc.org/videos
Church Closed While Our County is in the Red
Posted on Nov 19, 2020 in Newsletter |
At the recommendation of our church’s re-opening task-force, I am suspending in-person worship anytime Pulaski county is labelled in the red by the Lake Cumberland District Health Department, based on the Wednesday report. We will notify you on Thursday each week via Facebook, our church-wide email, and this site whether there will be in-person services that Sunday. We have decided to make the decision a few days in advance so that as many people as possible will receive the news before Sunday morning. As always, we will continue to stream our worship services on Facebook, Youtube, and this site, and encourage all those who feel unsafe attending in-person to worship with us virtually.
I know this is an additional inconvenience on top of a mountain of inconveniences. As always, I’m grateful for the trust you all have put in our church leadership as we try to faithfully navigate this pandemic. Like you, we are looking forward to the day we can truly be together again. Until then, know that you are all in my prayers. I love you all.
